Physiology

The department of Physiology at MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna is currently headed by Dr. KP Kalyanikutty. The department provides an excellent academic platform for all medical and paramedical students.
Physiology is the study of how the human body works. It describes the chemistry and physics behind basic body functions, from how molecules behave in cells to how systems of organs work together. It helps us understand what happens in a healthy body in everyday life and what goes wrong when someone gets sick.

 

Academic Activities

Medical and paramedical students have regular theory and practical classes. Seminars, small group discussions, early clinical exposure, self-directed learning, and Attitude Ethics Communication (AETCOM) linker cases are also being conducted for the medical students.

Good Laboratory

Department of physiology provides good laboratory facilities to the students for conduction of different practicals. We have separate Haematology, Clinical, Amphibian and Mammalian Labs. The department has one demonstration Room with audiovisual aids for capacity of 90 students. The department has library with more than 100 books.  A research laboratory with equipments for UG and PG teaching also available.
